Driver Charged In Fatal Highway Accident

Charges have been laid against the driver of one of the vehicles involved in yesterday’s fatal crash on Highway 105 between Baddeck and Whycocomagh. The 31 year-old New Brunswick man is charged with driving left over a solid double line, which carries a fine of $285 dollars. RCMP say the man’s van collided with a tractor trailer, which sent the van head on into another vehicle, whose driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The 52 year-old Truro man’s identity is being withheld pending notification of his family. His adult female passenger was in critical condition when transported to the Cape Breton Regional Hospital yesterday.
